Business Cards Set Up
In order to process your print order with the upmost speed and minimum fuss, it is vitally important for every customer to comply with our artwork specifications and requirements.
1. Please use templates below.
We prefer Illustrator as you will get the best results. Plus we can make any changes required to make the files print ready.
(if you need help please email us - we can always help info@krankn.com.au)
2. Please Convert all type to outlines.
We do not have every font or we may have a different version and this may change layout.
- Illustrator & Indesign
Select all type then go to top menu
type>convert to outlines. The type is now a vector.
- Photoshop:
A: Select type layer on layers
B: Go to top drop down menu >Layers >type>convert to shape.
C: repeat this for all type layers.
- Word and Publisher
Please send fonts used in PC format with files.
3. The artboard needs to be in CMYK and all images and colours CMYK. RGB colour will print terrible as they are screen colours not print colours.
4. If there are black colours used, select them to make sure they are set up correct for print.
- Plastic cards & Laminated cards
Solid Background black- C30% M30% Y30% k100%. (recommended)
- Type and lines K = 100% (black) Maximum
- Non Laminated cards k = 100% (black) Maximum
Please note: on CYCLUS 350Gsm 100% recycled the black will look grey as stock is not coated and ink soaks in more..
Larger saturations may create problems when printed.
5. If there are grey colours, select them to make sure they are set up correct for print.
Minimum value k7%
Except frosted cards 70% is minimum for type
Background , Type and lines need to be made of k only values. eg k10%, k50%, k90%
Other mix amounts may create problems when printed. (do not mix with CMY as this will make a dirty grey)
6. Colours use a CMYK mix from swatch in program or CMYK swatch book.
Please note: Colour books are just a guides. Colour will change on different stocks and with different finishes.
If you make up a colours these may be outside the print gamut and not print as intended.
6. Please make sure images are embedded or send linked images used with final files.
(minimum of 300dpi).
Under 300 dpi they will not look good.
7. Check spelling and numbers
8. Now save as .pdf or .au or native format and send when ordered.
