krankn Tips for better cards:

  • All images should be 300 dpi minimum.
  • Type is best done in indesign or illustrator and converted to shape.
  • Lamination is recommended when high ink saturation is used such as photos or large blocks of colour as this protects the surface of the card + makes for a better looking card.
  • Always keep type and important elements 3mm from the edge of the card. When you want a background photographic image or graphic element to the edge of the card - it needs to have 3mm bleed added to all sides. This allows for movement when trimmed. E.g. Finished size 86x54mm - supplied file 92 x 60mm.
  • Do not use boarders on the edge of the card. As they will not look good when the card moves slightly during printing and cutting.
